The full-day meeting was divided into two parts: the morning session was the "2024 Tower Alliance Annual Work Conference." In the industrial internet, a crucial part is the supply chain platform, which is the direction all distributors should develop towards. Whether it is the currently popular discount retail or traditional retail, in a sense, without supply chain, there won't be much development prospect. The supply chain platform has three core capabilities: first, the capability of a super product pool. Second, the capability of efficient supply chain turnover. Third, the capability of deep operation from ToB to ToC. These three capabilities cannot be achieved overnight, but they indeed have huge core barriers. China's retail competition is forcing distributors to transform towards supply chain. This is also an important mission of the Tower Alliance: to lead China's FMCG distributors in completing the supply chain transformation. Final Thoughts The TOP500 China Distributor Supply Chain Alliance was jointly initiated by "New Distribution" and five large supply chain platforms nationwide. With digital platform-based distributors as the main body, it aggregates different roles in the ecosystem such as brand owners, retailers, and industry service providers, aiming to promote industry exchange, drive industry development, and assist alliance members in digital transformation and upgrading, to build China's largest FMCG industry distribution supply chain platform community.
