Over the past decade, brands have grown accustomed to relying on national platforms such as Alibaba's Lingshoutong and JD's Xintonglu to solve coverage issues. But as the giants adjusted their strategies and Lingshoutong exited, a vast market vacuum emerged. Two years on, the industry no longer fixates on the giants' presence or absence, but rather asks: when entering a prefecture-level city, who should brands turn to for a foothold, and who should channels turn to for supply? A few days ago, we launched a call for information on "2026 China FMCG Regional B2b Platforms," and a stream of leads quickly poured into our backend. The first batch of samples includes 100+ platforms, covering 27 provinces and 77 cities. The sample is still being expanded; we welcome additions to fill any gaps. Regional B2b Platform Distribution Details From the platforms included in the first batch, we can see the basic landscape of the current regional B2b market:
- Regional Concentration (First Batch Sample) Regional B2b distribution is clearly dominated by East China, Central China, and North China: East China has 44 platforms, Central China 15, and North China 14, together accounting for about 74% of the sample. In contrast, Southwest China has 11, South China 8, while Northwest China has only 4 and Northeast China only 3, appearing thinner in our current sample. (Note: The statistics are based on the platforms' headquarters location, not their actual business coverage, and the sample is still being expanded.)
- Provincial Concentration (First Batch Sample) By province, the top-ranked provinces are: Shandong with 12 platforms, Jiangsu with 12, Hebei with 9, and Henan with 9; followed by Sichuan with 6 and Fujian with 6. The top six provinces alone total 54 platforms, accounting for 54.5% of the first batch sample. It can be seen that regional B2b platforms tend to "cluster" in provinces with stronger distribution infrastructure and more vibrant commerce—where multiple cities within the same province operate in parallel, and multi-platform competition within the same city is more common. Profile of 100+ Regional B2b Platforms: Based on the data we collected, we also conducted an in-depth profile analysis of the first batch of 100+ regional B2b platforms, revealing the following three major characteristics. First, most platforms are still in the "mastering one city" stage In the first batch sample, 67% of platforms cover 1,001-5,000 outlets; the median number of outlets covered is about 4,000; the median SKU count is also around 4,000. From the results, regional B2b is more of a density business, with the mainstream still being "stabilizing supply in one city." Second, there is a gap at the top, but the mainstream is "small but stable" In terms of store coverage scale, clear differentiation has emerged. In this sample, platforms covering fewer than 5,000 outlets account for 61.6%, while the mid-tier with 5,000-10,000 outlets accounts for nearly 30%. At the same time, there is a gap among top platforms: Linyi e-Nongchao (about 150,000 outlets), Shanghai Kuaizhanggui (about 50,000), Chengdu Rongcheng Yigou (about 40,000), and Xi'an Jiapin Yunshi (about 27,000) have already achieved city-level throughput capacity. Few at the top, a thick mid-tier, and the most at the bottom—this is the real shape of the FMCG distribution channel: not large in scale, but better adapted to local needs and more resilient. Third, platforms are denser not in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, or Shenzhen, but in major distribution provinces From the sample distribution, platforms are highly concentrated not in the first-tier cities, but rather in major distribution provinces with developed logistics infrastructure and more active retail. Some cities have multiple platforms coexisting, leading to higher competitive density. Final Thoughts In the two years since Lingshoutong's exit, China's FMCG distribution sector has undergone a "silent handover." The balance of power has returned to the local level, but an awkward reality follows: brands want to go downstream but can't find reliable footholds; regional platforms are deepening their roots but are hard for brand headquarters to see. This huge information gap is making distribution efficiency across 293 prefecture-level cities extremely uneven. This is exactly why we launched the call and are compiling the "2026 China FMCG B2b Map": to highlight the platforms that can truly stabilize supply in each prefecture-level city, so brands can find them and platforms can be seen. The first batch of 100+ platforms is just a start. Looking across the country's 293 prefecture-level cities and over 2,800 counties and districts, how many such platforms are actually active? If your company fits the following profile, please be sure to "claim your spot":
- Regional focus: Deeply rooted in one or more cities/counties, with localized warehousing and logistics distribution capabilities;
- Real operations: Possess an independent B2b online ordering platform (APP/mini-program) with business actually flowing;
- Open cooperation: Willing to undertake deep distribution and promotion tasks for first-tier brands. We will verify and screen the submitted information, and the platforms that ultimately make the list will receive:
- Major announcement: Your company will be officially listed on the "2026 China FMCG B2b Map" and prominently promoted to the industry at the "CFC 11th China Fast Moving Consumer Goods Conference" in March this year.
- Resource matching: Your information will enter the core database of "Tameng," serving as the preferred whitelist for first-tier brands and manufacturers seeking regional partners.
- Industry visibility: Opportunities for exposure on the "New Distribution" WeChat official account, video account, and other channels, with priority invitations to regional B2b private board meetings, breaking down information silos. Don't let your city become a "blind spot" on brands' battle maps. Scan the QR code to submit platform information On March 16-18, at the "CFC 11th China Fast Moving Consumer Goods Conference," we will not only officially release the complete "2026 China FMCG B2b Map," but also feature a dedicated regional B2b platform matchmaking session! Brands are looking for partners to take over, and platforms are waiting for good resources. Rather than groping in the dark, come to the event and make cooperation happen on the spot!
