Genki Forest's second Creation Camp 2044 brought young consumers, beverage experts, media, and product managers together in Xianning in March 2026. Participants acted as tasters, evaluators, and recorders while more than ten product managers presented new beverages and explained the problems they had tried to solve.
The event was less a conventional launch than a public innovation laboratory. Products could be tasted and discussed before the company knew which ones deserved broad commercialization.
Let Young Product Managers Own the Question
The product managers presenting at the event were, on average, under thirty. Some iterated established lines such as sparkling water, electrolyte drinks, iced tea, and herbal tea. Others explored new occasions: social gatherings without alcohol, drinkable breakfast, family reunion, outdoor hydration, or relief from heavy food.
The important behavior was problem framing.
Could a carbonated drink also support hydration after intense sweating? What would herbal tea look like if invented for today's consumer? Could a social beverage create the participation of drinking without alcohol? Could a complete breakfast become easier to consume?
The team used those questions to develop products including a carbonated electrolyte beverage, a lighter herbal tea, a cola-inspired non-alcoholic social drink, a fermented sparkling beverage, and a brown-rice drink.
Not every idea needs to become a large product. The value of the process is generating enough real experiments to learn which consumer problems, formulas, and occasions have durable demand.
A Pilot Factory Reduces the Cost of Learning
Ideas often fail between laboratory formulation and manufacturable product. Genki Forest opened the Xianning Innovation Institute at the end of 2025 to close that gap.
The facility, jointly funded with the local government, includes pilot lines and mini-factory equipment. It supports concept validation, small-batch production, and process transfer before a full-scale launch.
The first phase represented an investment of approximately RMB 200 million. From a short-term utilization perspective, a facility dedicated to experiments may look inefficient. Strategically, it lowers the cost and time required to turn a non-standard idea into something consumers can actually test.
The institute complements Genki Forest's Beijing R&D center, university partnerships, young technical teams, and agile project groups.
Heavy Infrastructure Can Enable Fast Experimentation
Genki Forest built its reputation as a fast-moving beverage challenger, yet its innovation system increasingly depends on physical assets.
The company reported investments approaching RMB 8 billion across seven self-built factories, research centers in Beijing and Xianning, academic partnerships, and a distribution footprint covering more than one million outlets in over eight hundred cities.
This apparent contradiction is important. Fast consumer learning does not require an asset-light company. It requires infrastructure designed to make testing faster rather than to lock the organization into one existing product.
Technical Work Makes the Concept Real
The company presented work in natural-color stability, liquid-nitrogen freshness preservation, hawthorn fermentation, and dynamic carbonation control.
These technical projects address sensory problems that consumers can experience directly: how a drink looks, smells, tastes, and releases carbonation over time.
The product story may begin with a lifestyle question, but commercial repeat purchase depends on formulation stability, packaging, shelf life, and consistent production.
Record the Beginning, Then Let the Market Decide
Creation Camp 2044 also documented the origins of each product. Recording the initial problem, assumptions, and iterations creates a flavor archive that later teams can examine whether the product succeeds or fails.
The larger innovation principle is to separate permission to experiment from the right to scale. Young teams receive a stage, tools, and small-batch capacity. Consumers provide early feedback. The market ultimately determines which ideas deserve resources.
Innovation becomes a repeatable system when a company can generate many thoughtful attempts, test them cheaply, preserve what it learns, and scale only the strongest results.
