Professor Li Linchun shares his views on water ▼ With 12 years of sales experience at Wahaha, I naturally have a deep affection for water. As early as the early 1990s, I studied mineral water with experts. Since the human body is composed of over 70% water, it is crucial to pay attention to drinking water: what kind of water to drink and how to drink it. I haven't drunk tap water for nearly 30 years. After a recent physical examination, I gained a new understanding of water, and I'd like to share my insights and experiences with you. Looking at the water available on the market, the drinking water structure has been changing in recent years. In the early 1990s, there were about 400 mineral water plants in China, but they were largely defeated by purified water. Why did this happen? It's because the Chinese people's understanding of water is insufficient. Purified water is sourced from urban tap water, has low operating costs, and can expand quickly and cheaply. As a result, the market ultimately favored purified water. Purified Water PH 5-7, slightly acidic, conductivity ≤10, non-conductive. Its biggest advantages are safety and thirst-quenching. Spring Water At a time when purified water dominated the market, Nongfu Spring implemented a differentiation strategy by introducing spring water. What is spring water? Although Nongfu Spring has grown rapidly in recent years, this has also planted hidden dangers. Spring water, as the name suggests, is surface water. This somewhat limited the development of mineral water. In the early 1990s, two elements were required, but the new standard lowered it to one element. This inadvertently lowered the threshold for mineral water in China. 90% of Chinese mineral water meets the standard for metasilicic acid. Benefits of Drinking Mineral Water True selenium-rich mineral water contains ions that are easily absorbed by the human body, distributing to various parts within 20 minutes, much faster than minerals from food. Current Status of High-End Mineral Water in China In the past two years, imported mineral water has rapidly entered China with a rich variety. Sales have grown quickly, with prices roughly consistent with European retail prices. Imported water has a long history and high trust, raising the overall consumption level of water. The Chinese drinking water market is expanding, but ultimately "water quality speaks." For example, Evian's mineral composition is quite ordinary, but its long history and high acceptance make it popular.
