On October 10, police at Nanjing South Railway Station busted a drug trafficking case, seizing new-type drugs disguised as chocolate and cookies.

Around 6 p.m., while patrolling the station, police spotted a young man standing at the entrance of a restaurant, wearing earphones and listening to music, occasionally looking around as if waiting for someone. He was thin, with a sallow complexion, resembling someone who had been using drugs for a long time.
When he saw the police approaching, the man immediately lowered his head, his legs trembling slightly, and one hand was inserted into his bulging jeans pocket. On his backpack was a pattern resembling a marijuana leaf. The police became alert and took him to the station for questioning and inspection.

Indeed, in the man's jeans pocket, police found a cigarette case containing seven rolled marijuana cigarettes.
Opening the man's wallet, police found two fingernail-sized 'paper pieces' in the lining. After identification, these 'paper pieces' were LSD, a new-type hallucinogen commonly known as 'stamps'. This was the first time Nanjing South Railway Station police had seized this type of drug.
It is reported that 'stamps' are as thin as paper, with brightly colored patterns on the surface, and are difficult to detect with X-ray machines. When the skin comes into contact with 'stamps', the hallucinogen is absorbed through the skin and is highly toxic.
Subsequently, police also found a plastic bag in the man's jacket pocket containing yellow 'dried mushrooms', another new-type drug commonly known as 'hallucinogenic mushrooms'. Its hallucinogenic components are mainly derived from a toxic fungus called 'Amanita muscaria', which can cause strong hallucinations when consumed.
Opening the man's backpack, it was filled with various snacks, among which a pack of 'chocolate' and a bag of 'cookies' caught the police's attention.
The packaging of the 'chocolate' had no brand, and the wrapping was rough and simple, containing two heart-shaped pieces of 'chocolate'. This was not ordinary chocolate, but chocolate mixed with cannabis oil made by criminals.
Upon closer inspection of the other bag of 'cookies', they looked no different from cranberry cookies sold in supermarkets, except that they contained green substances.
When the bag was opened, a strange smell hit the nose, and police concluded that it contained cannabis. These cannabis cookies were expensive, selling at 50 yuan per piece. Compared to raw cannabis, the finished cookies were ten times more expensive.

Case Progress
According to reporters, the man, surnamed Wang, 27, from Northeast China, had a college education and had worked for a foreign company. In 2015, he resigned and went abroad, doing overseas purchasing during the day and frequenting bars at night. There, he met a group of social friends who induced him into drug addiction, and he became deeply addicted.
Earlier this year, Wang returned to China and worked in commercial photography in his hometown of Shenyang. A music enthusiast, he learned that a music festival was soon to be held in Nanjing, featuring his favorite singers, so he took a train to Nanjing to attend with an online friend.
To enjoy himself to the fullest, he bought various interesting new-type drugs from his online friend, planning to share them with friends after the festival. Unexpectedly, he was caught by police as soon as he arrived at Nanjing South Station.
Currently, Wang has been criminally detained, and the case is under further investigation.
Enhance Vigilance and Resolutely Resist Temptation
In recent years, the drug situation has become increasingly severe, with a growing variety of drugs. In addition to traditional drugs, many new-type drugs have emerged.
New-type drugs are synthetic hallucinogens and stimulants. Compared with traditional drugs like heroin and opium, they have stronger psychological dependence and are among the most abused and addictive drugs, posing greater harm to humans.
To facilitate sale, transportation, and avoid police checks, criminals often disguise new-type drugs by turning them into powder or liquid and mixing them into various foods and items, making them hard to guard against.
The railway police remind: The public should maintain vigilance and take a resolute stance against drug temptation. Do not easily strike up conversations with strangers, refuse cigarettes, drinks, food, etc. offered by strangers, and never try the first taste.
