For the concept of 'superfoods', in 2016, we also witnessed its innovative application and rapid development in various food products... Recently, data company Search Laboratory, based on Google's Trends report and Keyword Planner Tool, analyzed and released the 2016 Google top 10 superfoods hot search list, with the top three being: avocado, kale, and turmeric. As of October 2016, the average monthly search volume for the keyword 'avocado' was 49,500 times, with San Diego, USA, being the primary search region, meaning that in this Southern California city, netizens searched for this keyword most frequently. Following avocado are: kale, turmeric, blueberries, kefir (a fermented milk drink originating from the Caucasus), almonds, cauliflower, coconut, flaxseed, and bulgur (made from hulled and milled durum wheat, common in European, Middle Eastern, and Indian cuisines). Search Laboratory's data also reflects the views of market analysts like Kara Nielsen. In a webinar in September this year, Kara stated that avocado has already captured the attention of mainstream consumers in Super Bowl commercials, and its popularity will continue to rise. Currently, this fruit has become an ingredient in many new pre-packaged foods, such as Avoke Spoonables, a healthy and delicious probiotic smoothie with avocado as the main ingredient, packaged in an avocado-shaped container. Each serving contains 1 billion CFUs of probiotics, two servings of fruits and vegetables, and a serving of roasted oat topping that can be eaten separately, serving as a substitute for yogurt or plant-based beverages. Another example is Cado, a dairy-free avocado ice cream, and Chosen Foods offers a range of avocado-based products, from mayonnaise to spray avocado oil. Industrialized pre-packaged foods and beverages allow us to enjoy this delicious and healthy product in a more convenient form. Avocado oil has also entered more people's daily diets, with increasing consumption frequency. Although superfoods are gaining more attention from consumers and food and beverage manufacturers, experts and analysts tend to believe that 'superfoods' is more of a pure marketing term. Mintel analyst Stephanie Matucci explained that, in general, consumers consider foods that are 'healthy, nutritious, or rich in antioxidants' to be superfoods. Matucci's comments also confirm why turmeric has gained so much attention and why it stands out in Google's 2016 food trends forecast report. Google's report also points out that 'consumers are also very concerned about how to consume turmeric. While searching for turmeric, consumers also try to search and understand keywords such as types of turmeric, consumption forms, and recipes.' From the frequency of netizens searching for turmeric on YouTube, it can also be seen that consumers are trying to understand more functional properties of turmeric. 'The top 5 searched videos on how to consume turmeric are very educational. Related search terms include acne, liver detoxification, and weight loss.' -END- ★ Click the blue text below to view this month's popular article selections ★ Click the blue text below to view this month's original article selections FMCG industry's most professional and practical knowledge base [ Reply with yellow numbers in the background to view the following keyword content ] | 001 Excellent article selections | 002 Distributor market operations | 003 Terminal visit management | 004 Sales supervisor skills | 005 Sales improvement techniques | 006 Channel expansion | 007 Managing distributors | 008 Distributor development | 009 Distributor internal operations management | 010 Team management | 011 Efficient distribution techniques | 012 Sales manager's eighteen skills | 013 KA operation methods and strategies | 014 Sales novice's first lesson | 015 Internet, brands | 016 Distributor B2B transformation |
