Friendly reminder: Click the up arrow "FMCG Distributor Professional Consulting" to learn more about marketing and distributor internal management. [Introduction] These are the 30 most reliable micro-marketing tips; learning them is more valuable than attending some training sessions! However, some tips may go against your values. If there's one you don't understand, you must try it yourself. Foreword Many people talk about micro-marketing, but most companies and individuals don't know how to do it. I founded the Seven Star New Media Research Institute, where I've had many discussions with researchers and practiced a lot, jotting down many small tips along the way. Writing long articles is tiring to write and read, so I've organized these into short tips. There are definitely more than 99 tips; I'll write and publish them as I go, and you can read them as they come. These tips cover both official accounts and personal accounts and are quite practical. Some tips may go against your values, and some might bring the lofty Gui Jiaoqi down from the altar, but that's okay—I'll tell you honestly...
- Don't spread your efforts across multiple accounts. Service accounts? Enterprise accounts? Personal accounts? Many companies register several but don't do well with any. For medium-sized enterprises, a service account is the best choice. Subscription accounts are harder than service accounts; not everyone can use a subscription account for self-media. Choose based on your business and capabilities.
- The potential of personal accounts should not be underestimated. Moments isn't just for selling products; it's not just for individuals either. Companies can also use personal accounts and Moments. For high-ticket items, products requiring trust, or products with high repeat purchase rates, personal accounts are a good option. Often, Moments has more influence than official accounts.
- For companies just starting with WeChat, complex data reports are not very useful. Focus on interaction and follower count; in the early stages, follower count is more important. Without followers, running activities is too low in cost-effectiveness! Focus on converting existing customers into WeChat friends and followers.
- How to break through the contact limit. A simple method: add about 4,000 people per account, then open a second account, copy the avatar and nickname, and sync Moments content. This creates a matrix. When posting to Moments, you can sync across multiple accounts.
- Occasionally run an interactive post, but the lively comments and likes might not be visible to others (they only see likes and comments from mutual friends). What to do? When replying to someone's comment, don't @ them; instead, directly reply to the comment under your post. That way, others can see it.
- If no one interacts and it seems too quiet, you can pretend someone commented and leave a few comments yourself. For example, even if there are no replies, you can reply: "Thank you all for your enthusiastic support; I'm in tears!" This makes others think there are many replies and it looks lively.
- Similar to the previous tip, you can also use this for self-promotion. For example, if you post an interesting product and want people to know how to buy it, but many like it and no one asks for the purchase link, you can't directly say it. You can reply uniformly: "Too many people are asking how to buy; let me tell everyone..." This reminds those people to buy without being abrupt.
- Pay attention to the first 13 characters of your WeChat article title; these directly affect the open rate. Make them eye-catching. Why the first 13 characters? Because WeChat notifications only show 13 characters (some phones show more).
- The open rate of a WeChat article depends on the title, then the summary, then the cover image. The title accounts for 50%, and the other two together account for 50%. If these three aren't coordinated, even great content will suffer.
- Sometimes you can add emotional cues to the title. Look at the latter part of my article title for an example. Similar ones include "This video was shared by 40 million people" or "CCTV exposed it!" But these are a bit lowbrow; not recommended for frequent use.
- For single-article posts, make sure to write a good summary; the quality of the summary determines the open rate. I despise articles that use the default summary; it's a waste of resources and irresponsible!
- Several summary styles are popular: choose two philosophical sentences from the article; quote a striking viewpoint; use a question to pique interest; or use your own exaggerated judgment. For example, once I posted an article with the summary: "Understand this article, and your worries will decrease by 90%!"
- Images are important. If the article is long, include multiple images. Mobile data is no longer an issue, so don't worry about too many images. A trick: if you don't know what image to use, just use a landscape photo. No one will find it odd.
- When sharing links in Moments, always use short links. Long links are ugly and discourage clicks. To generate a short link, post the link on Tencent Weibo once; it will automatically generate a short link, which you can copy. Alternatively, you can use Sina Weibo or a short-link generator.
- When sharing an article in Moments, add your own comment or excerpt a viewpoint from the article. This endorses the article, making friends more trusting or curious, and increases click-through. This is especially useful when you want many people to see the article, like when sharing your own article. Another benefit: when others share your article, they can copy your text description directly.
- After writing a WeChat article, think about how it will look when shared. There are two types of sharing: to Moments (covered above) and to WeChat groups. When sharing to a group, the first 36 characters are shown, which are the first 36 characters of your article. If you have a summary, it will be displayed instead. Got it?
- For official accounts, publishing a series of original articles is effective for attracting followers and increasing interaction. Followers will wait for the next installment, and those who read the next will return to your account to read previous ones. For example, Gui Jiaoqi's e-commerce articles are often split into two parts, bringing in many new followers each time.
- Don't put reminder images at the bottom of official account articles, like "share this" or "follow us." It looks lowbrow and is basically ineffective. The time for educating users is over; you don't need to educate them. Remember that!
- When promoting your WeChat ID, you need a hook, and it must be specific. "Follow Gui Jiaoqi to read e-commerce articles" is not specific enough. Instead, try "Reply 535 in WeChat [taobaoguijiaoqi] to view 'The Essence of Taobao Search Optimization'." Simply publishing your WeChat ID somewhere, even with high exposure, won't convert well unless you're a big celebrity.
- Avoid making your official account content too monotonous. For example, if an e-commerce account posts only e-commerce articles every day, it becomes boring. Similarly, a corporate account that only posts about the company is dull. Have a main theme but add other content.
- When maintaining an official account, pay attention to shaping the editor's persona, giving them distinct personality traits. The editor can occasionally act cute. For example: "The prize rate in yesterday's activity was set too high; the company wants to fire me. The boss said unless 100 people reply to support the editor..."
- If you use a personal account, make sure to use the grouping feature well. You can separate private friends and customers; solve multi-account issues; and stagger high-frequency interaction times.
- Don't post to Moments at fixed times; too regular is not lifelike. But you can set a range, like between 8-10 AM. The content shouldn't be too regular either. Posting multiple times at the same time feels bad.
- The number of images in a Moments post should not be 5, 7, or 8; they look ugly. Try it and you'll see. You say it's OCD? Well, I have a bit; seeing such images makes me want to block that person's Moments!
- In Moments, you can write text first and then add images, which is the usual way. Alternatively, you can post images first and then reply with text in a unified comment, which automatically reminds many people to look.
- How to increase interaction? In your Moments text, use more question marks; interaction will naturally increase. Do you know why?
- When you have nothing to do, like your friends' posts. With more likes, you become familiar, and interaction becomes natural. But be careful: if someone has a car accident, gets their wallet stolen, or gains weight... and you like it, they'll hate you forever!
- Bind your WeChat to a QQ number, then promote the QQ number. When one WeChat is full, bind the next WeChat. This way, you can promote uniformly. You know what I mean.
- Save important group chats to your contacts to avoid losing them later.
- When adding friends, pay attention to the verification message; don't use the default. If you don't know what to write, say: "Recommended by a friend." You say this isn't micro-marketing? Well, it's etiquette, but it will increase your acceptance rate. --------------------------------------
