The Executive's Dilemma: Keep Working or Start a Business?
Since the advent of the mobile internet era, a wave of 'mass entrepreneurship and innovation' has swept society. Recently, I met with a group of middle-aged executives, and when asked to write down their biggest current confusion and vote, the top vote-getter was: 'At midlife, should I continue working or start a business?' Middle-aged entrepreneurship has different advantages and challenges compared to young grassroots entrepreneurship. Continuing to work feels like hitting a ceiling, unable to realize life's value; choosing to start a business brings fear of failure and loss, creating a dilemma.
