Environmental Protection Tax Collection Begins for Q1 2018 Today! Are Price Hikes Across Industries Just a Marketing Ploy?
From April 1 to 15, the first declaration period for the environmental protection tax will begin. The Environmental Protection Tax Law officially took effect on January 1, 2018, and taxes are declared quarterly. Tax authorities have identified over 260,000 taxpayers. The tax applies to enterprises and other producers that directly discharge taxable pollutants, covering most manufacturing and some heavily polluting processing industries, affecting over 5 million enterprises. While the tax may increase costs for some, tax reductions and exemptions are available for those investing in pollution control, and the actual impact varies by region and enterprise.
