Yakult Expands Capacity: Transformation and Upgrading or a 'Big Adventure'?
In recent years, Yakult's performance has shown a slight slowdown, but its subsidiary Yakult (China) Investment Co., Ltd. continues to expand production capacity, aiming to maintain its leading position in the industry by tapping into lower-tier markets. Recently, Yakult's new factory in Foshan was completed, becoming its third factory in Guangdong. Not long ago, the second plant of Yakult's Wuxi factory was also completed. If both new plants go into operation, Yakult will have six production bases in five Chinese cities including Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Wuxi, and Foshan, with a maximum production capacity of 14.2 million bottles per production day.
