JD.com Goes Left, Alibaba Goes Right: Who Will Cover 1 Million Small Stores Faster?
On August 28, Alibaba announced plans to create 10,000 'Tmall Small Stores' in the 2018 fiscal year, and by 2018, its Retail Link platform aims to cover 1 million small stores with 30-minute delivery. These stores are traditional community mom-and-pop shops upgraded through Alibaba's platform, gaining access to Tmall's supply chain and guidance.
