Yonghui Surpasses Walmart China for the First Time, China Resources Vanguard Retains 'Supermarket No.1' Title! 2019 China Supermarket Top 100 Released (Full List Attached)
On the evening of June 29, the China Chain Store & Franchise Association released the '2019 China Supermarket Top 100'. China Resources Vanguard topped the list, retaining the 'Supermarket No.1' title, followed by RT-Mart in second, Yonghui in third, and Walmart in fourth. The top 10 also included Lianhua, Hema, Wumart, Carrefour, Jiajiayue, and Better Life. According to the association's annual survey, the total sales of the top 100 supermarkets in 2019 reached 979.2 billion yuan, up 4.1% year-on-year, accounting for about 18.1% of the total annual retail sales of food. The total number of stores of the top 100 supermarkets was 26,000, up 6.6% from the previous year.
