1. China Resources Vanguard (CR Vanguard) Founded in 1984, CR Vanguard is well-known in China. Its products are reasonably priced and diverse. Compared to multinational chains, its goods—especially produce—are fresher. In 2016, CR Vanguard achieved sales of 103.5 billion RMB, with 3,224 stores nationwide.

2. Yonghui Superstores Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Fuzhou, Fujian, Yonghui dedicates over 40% of its store space to fresh food, offering a full range of fruits, vegetables, poultry, meat, eggs, and fish. Fresh produce accounts for over 50% of its total sales. In 2016, Yonghui reported sales of 49.232 billion RMB, with 487 stores, including 105 new openings.

3. RT-Mart RT-Mart is a large Taiwanese hypermarket chain known for low prices. It caters to diverse customer needs with a wide selection in terms of variety, price, and taste, enabling one-stop shopping. Its produce and seafood are fresh, and the store layout is bright and appealing, with reliable daily necessities and apparel brands.

4. Lianhua Supermarket Founded in May 1991, Lianhua was Shanghai's first chain supermarket company. It has grown into China's largest retail enterprise, with a competitive advantage from its multi-format approach, including hypermarkets, supermarkets, and convenience stores. On May 26, 2017, Alibaba Group signed a share transfer agreement with Yiguo Fresh, acquiring 18% of Lianhua's domestic shares and becoming its second-largest shareholder. In 2016, Lianhua achieved sales of 59.785 billion RMB, with 3,648 stores.

5. Pangdonglai A renowned and reputable retail giant in Henan's business circle, headquartered in Xuchang, founded in March 1995. External reviews praise it as a conscientious enterprise that others can't replicate, earning loyal customers. Pangdonglai operates over 30 stores in cities like Xuchang and Xinxiang, with more than 7,000 employees (source: Baidu Baike). On September 8, 2016, the Xinxiang Pangdonglai · Dapang store officially opened.

6. Wumart Stores Wumart is also well-known in China, with many friends having a positive impression. Over the years, it has become part of daily life, and some even visit weekly out of habit, even without needing to buy anything. In 2016, Wumart achieved sales of 29.903 billion RMB, with 566 stores nationwide.

7. Renrenle Supermarket Founded in the 1990s, Renrenle has over 20 years of history and has become one of the most beloved supermarkets. It earns over 6 billion RMB annually. In 2016, Renrenle reported sales of 10.463 billion RMB, with 121 stores.

8. Jiajiayue Supermarket Jiajiayue Group focuses on supermarket chains, supported by regional integrated logistics, modern agricultural bases, and food processing chains. It is a full-supply-chain, multi-format retailer specializing in fresh food. It operates over 600 direct-sale stores across more than 40 cities in Shandong, including over 300 in Weihai, covering a 10-minute shopping circle in urban areas and full rural township coverage. In 2015, it ranked 11th in China's FMCG chain top 100 and first in Shandong. In 2016, Jiajiayue achieved sales of 23.825 billion RMB, with 644 stores.

9. Better Life (Bugao) Supermarket Many may not have heard of Better Life, but Hunan residents are familiar with it. As Hunan's most famous supermarket, it rivals first-tier city chains in scale and offers a comprehensive product range. In 2016, Better Life achieved sales of 32.145 billion RMB, with 590 stores.

10. Hongqi Chain Chengdu Hongqi Chain Co., Ltd. was founded on June 22, 2000. While not widely known nationally, it's familiar to Sichuan residents as the province's most famous supermarket, adhering to a philosophy of convenience, affordability, and reliability. In 2016, Hongqi Chain achieved sales of 11.61 billion RMB, with 2,704 stores.
