Video / Global Zhejiang Merchants Association (ID: GAZE-INFO) ▲ Video of Ma Yun's live speech ▌ No other country or era has dared to propose these two slogans We have all been poor. More than 30 years ago, poverty was visible almost everywhere in China. Chinese people habitually ask, "Have you eaten?" because they have been deeply afraid of poverty. But I believe that no country in human history has been able to lift 660 million people out of poverty in just over 30 years like China has. This is a great feat, a truly remarkable achievement. But today, we see an even more remarkable initiative: China hopes to lift the remaining 70 million impoverished people out of poverty, eliminate poverty completely, and achieve full poverty alleviation by 2020. I think this is a great idea and a great determination. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, I have been observing the various important measures taken by this government. There are two things that require the greatest determination and courage from this government: first, anti-corruption; second, comprehensive poverty alleviation. No country or era in human history has dared to propose these two slogans. Even now, with tens of thousands of employees in our company, I dare not say that there is no corruption at all within our company. If a country puts in so much effort and makes such great efforts to comprehensively combat corruption and uphold integrity, I think the pain this country endures must be very great. Because of our anti-corruption campaign, the country's future market mechanisms will be more perfect, governance will be more transparent, and the country will go further and better. To achieve these bright futures, we must pay some costs. These costs are not only necessary for government officials, but all enterprises should also actively participate. Therefore, the Zhejiang Merchants Association proposed "Zhejiang merchants will never bribe," hoping to contribute to the country's anti-corruption efforts. By 2020, lifting 70 million people out of poverty comprehensively makes me excited. As one of the first groups to get rich, we have benefited from reform and opening up over the past 30 years and become wealthy. In the future, we can participate in this great battle (to lift 70 million people out of poverty). This is our great honor and blessing. What could be better than this in life? ▌ "Make money before 50, spend money after 50" An entrepreneur once said, "Make money before 50, spend money after 50." How should we spend money to help more people and create more enterprises? I now feel very lucky. In my 50s, I can still run around the world, listen, learn, and think, and do things that I believe are beneficial to education, healthcare, and the environment. I am grateful to my team because their hard work allows me to have the opportunity to do such public welfare after 50. The most precious resource of any company is not money, not machines, not technology, but the time of the founder and CEO. We can now take time to do such public welfare. Personally, I think it is a particularly blessed thing. I hope all young people and entrepreneurs can work hard to earn money before 50, and after 50, learn how to spend money better. But before that, I want to give you a piece of advice: make sure your enterprise survives and develops well. If your enterprise cannot develop well, then you will need others to help you with poverty alleviation and poverty eradication. Undoubtedly, solving the poverty problem of 70 million people is not easy. It requires unconventional thinking and paths. My own understanding of poverty alleviation and poverty eradication is completely different concepts. In the past, when we helped the poor, we always gave them money and materials, but we forgot that poverty eradication is a process of continuous growth. From poverty alleviation to poverty eradication, and then to prosperity, these are three different stages. For poverty alleviation, we give people fish, solving the immediate problem; for poverty eradication, we teach them to fish, giving them skills, solving the long-term problem. We should teach them how to build fish ponds and fish farms. How to establish such an environment? I think this is what entrepreneurs urgently need to do now, because entrepreneurs do well in three aspects. First, entrepreneurs must achieve results; an enterprise without results has no tomorrow or future. Second, entrepreneurs value efficiency; if others can do something for 10 yuan but you need 20 yuan, or others take 3 days but you take 5 days, you have no chance. Third, enterprises pursue fairness; fundamentally, enterprises cannot force others to do this or that, because only with fairness can transactions be made. To lift 70 million people out of poverty, we must take a different path and move beyond yesterday. Poverty alleviation work is not difficult; just distribute money. But how to turn money into wealth, and how to make money sustainably transform into wealth, is a huge challenge. There are many things we can do. It doesn't mean everyone must do the same thing; we can work on poverty eradication from different directions. ▌ Children who are not good at studying may not necessarily have no future I think education is the first element. Only by increasing investment in education in rural and poor areas can the country achieve long-term poverty eradication and prosperity. The fate of a country is determined not only by elites and well-educated people, but more importantly by the number of people at the bottom. If the number of people at the bottom is larger, no matter how good the country is, it cannot be good. Therefore, the fundamental of poverty alleviation is to support people, enabling them to survive independently, understand the future, and be full of ideals. I hope more and more entrepreneurs and people from all walks of life can participate. Even if your enterprise is not yet big enough to help others create business models, your participation is still of great significance to the development of rural education. In exchanges with more than ten principals and dozens of teachers, I saw huge opportunities: if we make a little contribution to education, our teachers will change greatly, and our children will also change greatly. Especially rural education, which should be the biggest breakthrough for Chinese education. I believe everyone hates exam-oriented education, but look at today's children: their schoolbags are getting heavier, exams are getting more frequent, and almost everyone is kidnapped by exam-oriented education. If we can make some efforts in music, sports, and art, such as sponsoring music teachers and physical education teachers, these rural children may have a very different future. In my opinion, children don't necessarily have to study; children who are not good at studying may not necessarily have no future. I am a person who is not good at studying. It doesn't matter if you are not good at studying, but you must know how to play. You can be good at sports, music, or art; these are all signs of confidence. If you observe carefully, you will find that rural education lacks music, sports, and art teachers the most. If we can do a little in these aspects, it won't cost much money, but we can influence a school, or even a child's life. In poor areas, you will see many left-behind children. Their parents participated in the development of Chinese society and went to cities, but they stayed in rural areas with their grandparents or lived in boarding schools. These places lack sufficient teaching facilities, and educational concepts have big problems. In 20 or 30 years, what impact will these children with educational deficiencies have on the development of Chinese society? I think entrepreneurs and people from all walks of life can really do something, help a class, a school, or even a student. What we give is not just money; a regular phone call can have a positive impact on their lives. Doing public welfare, charity, and poverty alleviation does not mean we have to do big projects one after another. Small public welfare and small projects can also have a big impact. Public welfare is not about giving others money, but about how much time you spend influencing others and awakening their conscience. ▌ These 70 million people are a rare opportunity for China The reason why China's e-commerce can develop to where it is today, and Alibaba can develop to where it is today, is not because we are smart or hardworking. There are many people in the world smarter and harder working than us, and many with better commercial infrastructure. But we have surpassed many. For example, in the United States, the commercial foundation is much better than China's. If you want to do e-commerce in the US, you have to think about how to compete with Walmart. But in China, you don't need to. We have to think about how to compete with traditional retail. Their old ways are not suitable today. In this sense, I think poor areas have enormous opportunities. China has developed for more than 30 years, helping 660 million people out of poverty. Today, all the entrepreneurs present are born from this. This is the wealth opportunity created by poverty alleviation. Without the poverty alleviation of these 660 million people, there would be no takeoff of China's economy, and the entrepreneurs present would not be sitting here. Today, many people complain that there are no opportunities and that the economy is getting harder. I want to tell you: The opportunities we have left are really not many. If we can solve the poverty problem of the remaining 70 million people, I believe China can still give birth to a batch of enterprises and create a batch of outstanding entrepreneurs. What is opportunity? Opportunity is solving troubles. Where there are complaints, there are opportunities. As long as you solve these difficulties and complaints, you are the opportunity. Therefore, lifting 70 million people out of poverty is not only a pressure, not only a responsibility, not only a commitment, but also an opportunity. There was a great entrepreneur among Zhejiang merchants, Hu Xueyan, who said, "Business is getting harder and harder, and the harder it is, the more opportunities there are." The key is vision. If your vision sees a county, you do business in a county; if your vision sees a province, you do business in a province; if your vision sees the whole world, then the whole world is your opportunity. The previous 660 million people have already been lifted out of poverty. The remaining 70 million people's poverty alleviation is a rare opportunity for China. How should we seize these opportunities? We need to think clearly. -END- The best FMCG distributor learning platform in China Focusing on providing professional, practical, and applicable tutorials for enterprises and distributors Committed to helping Chinese FMCG distributors grow rapidly The most professional and practical knowledge base in the FMCG industry Reply with the red number below to get the corresponding content Reply with number 1 to view the complete knowledge base | 001 Excellent article selection | 002 Distributor market operation | 003 Terminal visit management | 004 Sales supervisor skills | 005 Sales improvement techniques | 006 Channel expansion | 007 Managing distributors | 008 Distributor development | 009 Distributor internal operations management | 010 Team management | 011 Efficient distribution techniques | 012 Sales manager's eighteen skills | 013 KA operation methods and strategies | 014 First lesson for new sales | 015 Internet, brands | 016 Distributor B2B transformation | [Long press QR code to follow]
