# What Are the Common Core Business Models of the Three B2B Platforms: New High Bridge, No.1 Life, and Caihua Commerce?

> From 2017 to 2018, the FMCG B2B sector experienced extreme contrasts: over twenty B2B platforms like Yatang Xiaochao and Dianshang Hulian ceased operations, raising doubts about B2B business logic, while giants like Xintonglu and Ling Shou Tong expanded rapidly, educating and transforming the market. This left distributors wondering if regional B2B still has opportunities. New Distribution visited three representative regional B2B platforms—Changsha New High Bridge, Guangzhou No.1 Life, and Dongguan Caihua Commerce (under Meiyijia)—each with annual GMV over 1 billion yuan, and found their core business models share four common traits that offer strong reference for distributors transitioning to regional B2B.

From 2017 to 2018, the entire FMCG B2B circle can be described as a tale of two extremes. On one hand, more than twenty B2B platforms such as Yatang Xiaochao and Dianshang Hulian ceased operations, causing the whole industry to question the business logic of B2B. On the other hand, giants like Xintonglu and Ling Shou Tong expanded rapidly, reaching most mainstream markets in China, and indeed educated and changed the market. This has left all distributors confused: Is FMCG B2B really only the domain of giant players? Do regional B2B platforms still have opportunities? Besides cooperating with these internet giants, do distributors still have chances to transform into B2B?

In response to this topic, New Distribution recently visited three representative regional B2B platforms in China: **Changsha New High Bridge, Guangzhou No.1 Life, and Dongguan Caihua Commerce under Meiyijia**. These three are currently very representative platforms among regional B2B in China. Each has an annual GMV exceeding 1 billion yuan, has been deeply cultivating their local markets for years, and focuses on regional density. Moreover, in the intense market competition of the past two years, their growth rates have actually accelerated.

After communicating with their leaders, we found that the core business models of these three B2B platforms have strong matching and demonstrative significance for distributors transforming into regional B2B platforms. Summarizing their models, they all share the following four characteristics:

**1. Deep cultivation of the region for many years**: Caihua Commerce under Meiyijia started in 2012 and has been deeply cultivating the local market for 7 years, covering 8 cities in Guangdong. No.1 Life started operations in 2014 and currently covers 18 cities in Guangdong. New High Bridge basically covers most cities in Hunan.

**2. Self-operated, not matching**: They all self-purchase and self-distribute. Through self-operation, they effectively control categories and achieve refined supply chain management.

**3. Strong logistics capabilities**: New High Bridge's franchise store delivery model, No.1 Life's same-city small warehouses, and Caihua Commerce's central warehouse + regional front warehouse model all have strong matching relationships with their own businesses. They all feature high-density local delivery with very low delivery costs.

**4. Wholesale + rebranding franchise**: Since the first half of 2017, No.1 Life has successively taken on agency roles for first-tier brands in Guangdong. Caihua Commerce has even become the general agent for many first-tier brands in Dongguan. While providing online wholesale to mom-and-pop stores, they also form strategic alliances with numerous local mom-and-pop stores through loose brand alliances and tight alliances. As of now, No.1 Life has nearly a thousand loosely franchised convenience stores, Changsha's New High Bridge has over 10,000 Happy Hui brand franchises, and Caihua Commerce's Yueheji convenience store free alliance model is a textbook highlight.

To help more distributor friends understand and reference their operating models, New Distribution will launch the **9th New Distribution B-end E-commerce Study Tour** from June 9-11, leading distributor friends to visit New High Bridge, No.1 Life, and Caihua Commerce under Guangdong Meiyijia, and listen to their founders explain how they became regional kings under the siege of giants.
