Recently, retail giants Walmart, Costco, Carrefour, Metro, Kroger, Best Buy, Tesco, 7&I Holdings, Aeon, Yonghui, Suning, Lotte, Marks & Spencer, Home Depot, and more than 30 other giants have released their Q1 2021 financial reports. **United States**
Walmart reported Q1 fiscal 2021 results. Total revenue was $138.31 billion, up 2.7% year-over-year; net income attributable to shareholders was $2.73 billion, down 31.6%. US same-store sales increased 6% year-over-year, and e-commerce sales grew 37%.
Sam's Club same-store sales increased 7.2%, and its e-commerce sales grew 47%; membership income rose 12.7%, with total membership reaching an all-time high. Walmart International net sales were $27.3 billion, down 8.3% year-over-year, with e-commerce sales up 49%.
Costco Wholesale reported results for the 12 weeks ended May 9, 2021. Total revenue was $45.277 billion, compared to $37.266 billion in the same period last year. Ahold Delhaize reported Q1 2021 results. Quarterly net sales were €18.264 billion (about $21.8 billion), up 5.8% year-over-year.
US net sales were €10.738 billion, and Europe net sales were €7.526 billion. Quarterly net income was €550 million, down 9.5% year-over-year.

**Asia**
Japanese retail giant AEON CO., LTD. reported fiscal year results (March 2020 - February 2021). Annual revenue was ¥8,603.9 billion (about $78.1 billion), compared to ¥8,604.2 billion in the prior fiscal year.
Operating profit for the year was ¥150.6 billion, compared to ¥215.5 billion in the prior year. Net loss for the year was ¥71.0 billion, compared to a net profit of ¥26.8 billion in the prior year.
Seven & i Holdings Co, parent of 7-Eleven convenience stores, reported fiscal year results (March 2020 - February 2021). Annual revenue was ¥5,766.7 billion (about $52.3 billion), compared to ¥6,644.3 billion in the prior fiscal year.
