# How Should FMCG Professionals Grow in the Internet Era?

> Many people think I've grown fast in the past two years and ask for my secret. I think Teacher Liu Chunxiong's assessment of me is quite accurate: cross-border. Let me share my experience: I worked in FMCG for 10 years, in four industries (white liquor, beer, beverages, instant noodles, ham sausage) across six companies, holding various positions such as sales, sales management, marketing, and new media. I'm known as a job-hopping expert. People in the FMCG industry know that such a resume basically ruins one's career; any HR would hesitate to assign important roles regardless of ability.

Moreover, in terms of industry accumulation, there are many people with 10 years of work experience like me, and many are more capable. My personality is the type that wouldn't survive two episodes in a TV drama; I often fail to handle complex interpersonal relationships in the workplace and frequently suffer losses. So I clearly knew that no matter how hard I tried, it would be difficult to break through in my career.
Of course, I also thought about trying other industries. Over the years, I've seen many friends jump to other industries and start from scratch, but I found that apart from gaining weight, nothing else changed. This made me reflect deeply: if you can't do well in your current field, changing places won't help. But as I approached 35, still in frontline management, I wondered if I should just muddle through.
In early 2014, Teacher Ma Xingqiang suggested I do self-media in my spare time. Using my FMCG knowledge, I created the WeChat public account "New Distribution." Because I caught the self-media dividend, I quickly accumulated a large following of FMCG practitioners. I also wrote several articles with over 100,000 reads early on.
During the operation of "New Distribution," I met a group of awesome people in the industry and learned a lot of experience and insights that I hadn't encountered before. I think this is one of the reasons for my rapid growth in the past two years: being with awesome people, even if you don't reach the average, you grow quickly.
At the end of 2015, during the Autumn Sugar Fair, through Brother Feiyu's introduction, I came into contact with the FMCG B2B industry. Perhaps because being in media made me sensitive to industry changes, I felt this was a big event that would transform the FMCG industry. Without much thought, I plunged into this industry.
That's how I accidentally made my second cross-border move. FMCG B2B is a brand-new industry. Leveraging my accumulation in FMCG and media, I started visiting, learning, thinking deeply, writing articles, organizing study tours, and industry conferences. I've been busy until today. Currently, I'm not successful; I'm just an entrepreneur dog. Fortunately, along the way, I've met many brothers and friends like me, warming each other and moving forward together.
Summarizing my experience over the years: learn, accumulate, think, write, cross borders, enter new fields earlier than others, and use your original experience to grow with the industry.
This is how I've grown in recent years. The purpose of this post is to find a few friends who, like me, love learning and are willing to cross borders, to fight alongside us. Yes, the New Distribution team is hiring. If you have years of industry accumulation in retail or FMCG, consider yourself extraordinary, want to try challenges, and change your destiny, come to me and do something awesome with us.
Our benefits: as long as there's internet, you can work anywhere, no punching in, no early rising, part-time or full-time, entirely up to you.
If you're awesome enough, you can also become our partner. Come with us to change the world.
