# How Should FMCG Manufacturers and Distributors Navigate Internet Transformation?

> Since China's GDP first fell below 7% in 2015, most FMCG companies have reported declining sales, facing both market volatility and the impact of e-commerce. Traditional marketing models like intensive distribution have failed, and while new Internet B2B platforms are rising, traditional companies and distributors are struggling to adapt. This article introduces a summit held to discuss the transformation path for FMCG companies in the Internet era.

Since China's GDP first fell below 7% in 2015, the vast majority of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies have successively reported issues such as declining sales. Industry giants are suffering from sales declines caused by market fluctuations on one hand, while also facing the impact of the Internet industry represented by e-commerce on the other. Traditional FMCG companies have begun to respond to market changes with measures such as "layoffs," "budget cuts," and "expanding online sales channels."

As China fully enters the era of "Internet+" and "consumption upgrade," traditional marketing models such as "intensive distribution" and "deep distribution" have become ineffective. Traditional FMCG companies that have accumulated substantial resources and experience have yet to find better solutions to this problem. Not only manufacturers, but distributors are collectively at a loss.

However, contrary to the overall market downturn, a group of emerging "Internet B2B" platforms are rising against the trend. Unlike traditional distributor distribution, these platforms rely on advanced Internet technology models such as unified warehousing and distribution logistics systems, supply chain finance, and online transactions, and are rapidly reshaping the landscape of China's supply and marketing system.

During the Autumn Sugar Fair, our official account, together with Waiqin 365 and Boshihui, co-hosted the "FMCG + Internet" Summit Forum with the theme "New Food Era · New Distribution" at the Fujian Grand Theatre in Fuzhou on October 16. On that day, we invited renowned domestic marketing experts, CEOs of Internet-related companies, and traditional manufacturers and distributors to discuss the transformation path of FMCG + Internet. Friends coming to Shangri-La must not miss this event.
