Global Top 50 FMCG Companies Ranking: Four Chinese companies made the list.
OC&C Strategy Consultants released its annual FMCG Global 50 report, showing that the FMCG market continues to grow, and the world's top 50 FMCG companies entered 2020 in a relatively strong position.
Based on 2019 financial data, the top ten global FMCG companies are: Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Unilever, AB InBev, JBS, Tyson Foods, Coca-Cola, L'Oréal, and British American Tobacco. Four Chinese companies are on the list: WH Group (16th), Yili (32nd), Mengniu (38th), and Kweichow Moutai (41st).
The 2019 Global 50 FMCG companies include 23 in food and beverage, 10 in home and personal care, 8 in beer and spirits, 4 in tobacco, and 5 diversified companies.
Kweichow Moutai climbed six places from the previous year, driven by price increases and channel model adjustments, resulting in strong revenue growth of 16.2% in 2019.
Three new entrants made the top 50 list: Brazilian food processor Marfrig, Canadian dairy manufacturer Saputo, and American packaged food maker Conagra. Hormel and Master Kong dropped out of this year's top 50.
In 2019, the number of M&A deals involving the "Global 50" fell by 13% to 48, and the total transaction value fell by 40% to $45 billion, the lowest level since 2011.
