# Dealers, Why Are You So Tired?

> Dealer bosses are notoriously tired and busy, often to the point of never taking a day off and being overwhelmed by work. The root causes are distrust of employees, inability to manage people, lack of delegation, and poor profit-sharing, leading to unsustainable businesses. The solution lies in changing mindsets and building systematic company operations.

It is well known that dealer bosses are tired, and it is common knowledge that dealer bosses are busy.

Dealer bosses are so tired that they have not taken a single day off since starting their business. If they are away on a business trip for more than a week, their employees become at a loss; if the boss does not return within ten days, employees threaten to resign. This is unheard of to me! Bosses are so busy that if their phone is off for three days, they receive as many as a thousand text messages from employees seeking instructions and customers contacting about business. This is nothing short of a fairy tale to me!

When a company's operations depend on the boss alone, and its survival relies on the boss alone, how can such a business sustain? How can it grow? I feel anxious for them! As a business management consultant, I am deeply concerned about the management status of small and medium-sized enterprises in China.

Why do bosses complain of fatigue? Some answer: My company has no talent, my employees lack execution, and my company is located in a remote area where good cadres are hard to find. Some attribute it to the post-80s and post-90s generations. Others say: I have low education and don't know how to manage; I come from a technical background and don't know how to manage people; I started in sales and managing people is truly out of my field. Finally, some people start to look for reasons within themselves.

In my view, these answers remain superficial and do not address the root of the problem! The real reason bosses are tired is that **they do not trust their employees!** They are not at ease! They think: I worked hard to save my first pot of gold and succeeded in entrepreneurship. Everything in the company is mine personally. How can I casually delegate to others? All major and minor matters, such as personnel, accounts, inventory, purchasing, and sales, must ultimately be decided by me alone! Running a business like this, it's no wonder they are tired! "Not being at ease" is the biggest reason for boss fatigue.

**The second reason is the inability to use people.** This is reflected in not knowing how to find people, not knowing how to identify talent, and not knowing how to place people in suitable positions. China has a long feudal history, and no matter how times change, the "my territory, my rules" mentality of a feudal lord is deeply rooted in the minds of Chinese people. Why are there so many flatterers in China? Because there are too many people who love to hear good words. When selecting people, bosses first consider "whether they are pleasing to the eye and obedient." But would talented people easily bow down? Even if you don't visit a thatched cottage three times like Liu Bei, at least you should treat the wise with respect, right? Otherwise, who would be willing to work hard for you? "A scholar dies for a bosom friend" refers to these talented people! Strangely, the smaller the company, the bigger the boss's airs! Because he is the "capable person"—the company can turn without anyone else, but not without the boss. In such companies, it's no wonder the boss is tired!

**The third reason is the inability to delegate.** Many people become bosses without truly understanding what a company is and how it is structured. They do not know that the vast majority of work can be delegated to others and can be classified, graded, and timed for employees to complete. Many bosses also understand the importance of delegation but do not know how to do it. Most people's experience is "once you let go, chaos ensues; once you tighten control, things stagnate." Actually, solving this problem is simple. Let professionals do professional things. Find a professional consultant, spend a little time, and all these problems can be resolved.

**The fourth reason is the inability to share profits.** There are also many bosses who are good at using people and delegating, and their companies develop well. But when the company reaches a certain scale, veterans leave, and capable people resign. Originally, someone else shared the boss's workload, but when no one takes over, the boss has to step in personally, and once again falls into a state of chaos and exhaustion. There is a boss in Sichuan who is over sixty years old. He had already stepped down as general manager for four years, but due to poor profit distribution, the general manager and technical director resigned in anger, and this year he had to resume the role of general manager in addition to being chairman. Only he knows the taste of it! He has to savor the bittersweet experience alone.

We know that bosses originally started businesses to live a better life, but unexpectedly, some have embarked on a road of no return. When Zhejiang boss Wang Junyao died young, some said it was a relief; if not, he would have had to toil for life!

Is it impossible to run a good company without the boss being tired? Not at all. Companies that last for generations tell us: the more relaxed the boss, the longer the company lasts. From my own consulting experience, it is also proven: the more relaxed the boss, the smoother the company's development. Because when the boss is relaxed, it means employees are working hard. When everything has someone responsible, can the boss not be relaxed?

For bosses to avoid fatigue, it is not difficult. First, change your mindset. Second, find a good coach to help your company build a systematic operation system that gets rid of dependence on the boss and on capable individuals. The boss only needs to hold the key to start the system. Let the system manage your company and make money for you.
