30+ industry experts, 100+ B2B platform founders, and 800+ manufacturer friends will gather in Fuzhou to discuss the internet transformation of the FMCG industry.
As a channel, as a distributor,
You may have large sales on JD.com,
You may also rank in the top few on Tmall.
You might even occupy significant traffic in many high-end malls and airport specialty stores,
But!
Are the brands you operate truly reliable?
Are your partner manufacturers trustworthy?
Are the best-selling products you sell really problem-free?
Do you
worry that your key products might be removed from shelves overnight?
Do you
worry about sudden market supervision inspections?
You may have countless doubts and uncertainties.
It's necessary to give the brands you represent a health check.
**Health Check Guide 1: Check 3C Certification**
Visit the official homepage of the China Quality Certification Center. Remember, it must be the official homepage.
URL: http://www.cqc.com.cn/www/chinese/zscx/
As shown in the figure:
In the [Product Certification Certificate Inquiry] input box, you can search by certificate number, manufacturer, applicant, production factory, or product name to check whether the brand you represent has a genuine 3C certification and whether it is still valid. If it is missing or expired, you should consider switching brands as soon as possible, otherwise you may face big trouble.
**Health Check Guide 2: Check Trademark**
Whether there is a genuine and valid trademark is crucial.
Genuine and valid means that the brand you represent and the brand that authorizes you must have **identical names**. For example, for an iPhone, the authorization certificate must say Apple, not "Pingguo" or any other name that skirts the issue.
Validity includes category and time:
Category means, for example, if you are in 3C digital products, it should be Class 9; if toys, Class 28. The trademark category has clear regulations. A mismatched category can lead to removal from shelves and fines!
Time includes two aspects:
First, the trademark may have expired. This is rare; trademark validity is 20 years. Expired trademarks must not be used, otherwise the market supervision bureau will investigate and fine you.
Second, some trademarks are still in TM status, meaning the trademark office has only issued a trademark acceptance notice, not the trademark certificate. Such trademarks generally cannot be used on JD.com, Tmall, or in malls; they are only a receipt. According to trademark law, the R mark, meaning the trademark certificate has been officially issued, is required. Many unscrupulous merchants use Photoshop to deceive businesses. You must keep your eyes wide open, otherwise you will suffer, as you may be penalized heavily for selling counterfeit or substandard goods!
How to check:
Visit the official website of the National Trademark Office. Ensure it is the official site.
Click the following inquiry link:
http://sbcx.saic.gov.cn:9080/tmois/wscxsy_getIndex.xhtml
Then, click on the trademarks that appear to view their specific status, whether the trademark certificate has been issued, and whether the exclusive right period has expired!
**Health Check Guide 3: Check Patents**
Design patents are very important. Designs are easily copied and counterfeited, so genuine brand manufacturers apply for design patent protection for each of their products. Many unscrupulous manufacturers who copy others' designs, with a hit-and-run mentality, will not spend energy, money, or time on design patent applications.
This is crucial. Don't just see a good-looking product at a low price and put it on sale; it could be a big trap. Once you jump in, you may not get out. The larger the sales volume, sometimes the more severe the consequences. Once reported and complained about by the legitimate manufacturer, your troubles begin. How severe? Just search on Baidu and you'll know.
How to check:
Visit the official website of the National Patent Office.
http://cpquery.sipo.gov.cn/
Enter the public inquiry interface, then input the patent number provided by your partner. You can determine whether they truly have their own patent intellectual property. This is also important; otherwise, you might be sued by others!
**Health Check Guide 4: Check Barcode**
This is also important. According to the National Standards Center regulations, all products sold must apply for a unique barcode for their brand. Each company has its own barcode field, usually printed on the bottom of the product packaging, a combination of a 13-digit number starting with 6 and a barcode graphic. It's simple to verify authenticity: use WeChat scan, I Check, browser scanning, or any QR code scanning tool to see if the product model and manufacturer match. Also check if it is valid, to avoid unscrupulous merchants using others' barcodes to pass off fake goods! This is especially important for offline sellers; many malls heavily check this indicator! If caught, the industry and commerce bureau will directly issue a fine and confiscate goods, making your hard work over half a year go to waste. It's not worth it!
You can also check authenticity on the official National Barcode Center website.

**Health Check Guide 5: Check Business Scope**
Another point is that some manufacturers do not have the business scope license for related products. In this case, be careful. This is called unlicensed operation or unlicensed business, and penalties are also severe. You can check this on the local Red Shield Network or the Market Supervision Bureau's official website. With a mobile phone, you can use an app called Qixin.com to query relevant information in real time. Once you find that the business scope does not match reality, the best practice is to confirm with the merchant immediately and take self-protection measures, otherwise the consequences can be serious!
These five health check guides are written with tears, money, and tuition fees.
Have you encountered this?
Have you woken up?
Do you want to encounter it?
**No matter how busy your business or how good your sales!**
**Calm down, take some time, and do a health check. It's really necessary!**
**If you get caught, a year's work is wasted, and you're back to where you started before entrepreneurship!**
